We really love to celebrate when we can and being in the wine biz means that we are often providing others with wine for their special occasions or celebrations. But on October 15th we have our own special occasion we would like to invite you all to join in celebrating and that is the closing of the 2016 Harvest Season.
It has been a great growing season for grapes and we are so thrilled about our harvest! This enthusiasm has resulted in a party in the form of a seasonal, hand-crafted wine pairing dinner that will be an enchanting, autumn evening alongside the vineyard. A party with delicious food and great wine… could you really want anything more?
Wine Maker, Todd Wuerker has enlisted the help of friend and Local Chef, Joshua Day to craft this unique farm-to-table culinary experience for the Harvest Wine Maker’s Dinner hosted in the vineyard on Saturday, October 15th at 4 P.M.
“I try to put an emphasis on good technique and keep it simple but complex. I try not to get carried away with aesthetics that I forget the soul idea of the dish,” Chef Josh Day says about his style of cooking. “I love working with my hands and creating. I love to make nice things for people and it brings me a lot of pleasure to bring people together to eat.”
This will be the first year for the Harvest Wine Maker’s Dinner. Guest can expect their journey to start under the star-shade tent mingling with the wine making team as they enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres featuring local cheese & charcuterie alongside hand-crafted accouterment. The journey continues as guests make their way to the table winding along the vineyard, where Chef Josh will present a four course, family style dinner, which is to be paired with Hawk Haven wine selected by our Wine Maker. Dinner will include a charming butter tasting, a seasonally crafted salad dressed with chamomile and rosemary vinaigrette and a duo of entrees consisting of Prime Rib of Swordfish and House Made Porchetta with a Cherry-Cippolini Onion Agrodolce. The night will conclude with dessert, crafted with love by our resident baker Sue Marleton. A special tasting of our prized 2008 White Port will accompany coffee and dessert under the star-shade tent.
Tickets for the Harvest Wine Maker’s Dinner are priced at $109 and are on sale now online. Wine club members will receive a special discount on their tickets. Chef Josh, Wine Maker Todd and all of the Hawk Haven Staff are looking forward to creating this sensational, palate-pleasing experience for all!
